Introduced to this place by a friend. The first issue is getting a place to park. Motorcycle will have easier time. But since we're on car, need to placed it really close to the curb since it's literally next to a u-turn. The place itself is kind of cozy. Not noisy. The lights are dim. And luckily there's only one other table is filled. We tried a few side dishes and main course. The food is pretty good. But not spicy enough for me. So i got to add some scoops of chili. The team serving us at the time was kind of quiet. Not able to inform what kind of nuanced of the food we asked. So in the end we just choose based on our most familiar selections.

Xiao Chu, THANK YOU for giving me a glimmer of hope. I am a desperate millennial who is handling impossible aunties. They will scrutinize every grain of rice and every drop of sauce. There will always be a mistake, and they will never be satisfied. So when they are impressed that you clean the veins of your prawn, I almost drop a tear. You manage to conquer them! And all the dishes we had are impressive. Crispy deep fried fish with balanced sauce. Fragrant stir fried cai miaw. Peefectly deep fried prawn with the right amount of salted egg sauce intensity. The fried seafood rice noodle also hit the right spot of oiliness. Your polite, sincere and precise staffs also remained unfazed with the list of my aunts requests and customization. Thumbs up for kitchen department too, for a swift serving time. We also love the charming interior. I was tired, abused and terrified by these aunties that are manifestation of culinary nightmare critic. Thank you for showing me there is still hope
Tried the pork fried rice, salt & pepper chicken, Sichuan green beans, and tom yum — everything was delicious, nothing missed the mark. Great flavors and satisfying portions. Will definitely come back!
Didn't expect to eat Chinese food in Bali. This place is highly recommended, good food, affordable price, and easy to find. Everything I order is good, cooked to my likings But my favourite is Kerapu Asam Manis. Place a little bit hot, but that's only because they just turn their AC, but the food is amazing.
Been to Xiao Chu restaurant 3 times. 2 lunch and 1 takeaway dinner during my short stay in Bali. Love the chinese food. First time I entered the restaurant, I found it oldish and dim. However, I am a person only care about good food, ambience to me is secondary. The server spoke English, ordering was easy. Food was served promptly and hot. My favourite crab corn soup, stir fried mixed vegetable and yang chow fried rice. Simple dishes but taste extraordinary, that is the skill of the chef! That is why I returned 3 times. Will come again when I visit Bali.
The place is pretty small indeed. But it doesn't do justice to the food. The food is just out of words, all item I ordered taste great! I've never eaten beehoon goreng so tasty like this. And they have great chili oil too which it's one of main reasons I often eat here hahahh. It worth the price. I spent 100k for two food items and one drink. If you are chinese food lovers, definitely Xiaochu is one to go.
